Jim Gardner

Dear Friend,

I am writing to ask you to join me in supporting Robert Pittenger in his campaign for the office of Lieutenant Governor of North Carolina. Robert is a successful businessman from Charlotte. He went to the North Carolina

Senate in 2003 and has made great strides, operating as a Republican in a Democrat- controlled body, in pushing for reform and reducing the size of state government through efficiencies and eliminating duplication. He even persuaded the Democrat leadership to appoint a study commission to analyze state government and identify where savings could come from.

That is quite an accomplishment and one important reason why I am delighted that Robert is running for Lieutenant Governor. Robert understands that if we’re to make real changes, it can’t be about politics or party, it’s about what is best for taxpayers all across the state.

Robert’s accomplishments and knowledge are impressive, but I am also impressed that he is a man of faith and a man of character. I hope you will have an opportunity to get to know Robert personally in the coming days.

In his capacity as President of the Senate, the Lieutenant Governor can direct the debate on important issues as he presides over the Senate. Robert Pittenger has shown a great deal of leadership and determination as he has worked to bring fiscal accountability to state government.

He has what it takes to be a real force in this important position. I look forward to having Robert’s leadership in the office of Lieutenant Governor where he will be a strong voice for conservative principles.

Please join me and many others like Jim Martin, Lauch Faircloth and Mrs. Dorothy Helms in supporting Robert Pittenger in his campaign for Lieutenant Governor. A financial investment in Robert’s campaign is an investment in a strong future for North Carolina. I would be most grateful if you could help Robert in his campaign with your support and look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Jim Gardner

Lieutenant Governor 1988-1992
