ASHEVILLE, NC—Eagle Forum, the pro-family organization founded by Phyllis Schlafly in 1972 is proud to present NC State Senator Robert Pittenger with a 2012 Eagle Award.

“Eagle Awards are presented to conservative activists and legislators who champion Eagle Forum’s goals of strengthening American families by protecting human life, traditional marriage and all aspects of American exceptionalism,” said Schlafly.

“Senator Pittenger earned this award through his leadership in passing the marriage amendment and for his work protecting the unborn and cutting wasteful spending to protect North Carolina citizens,” said North Carolina Eagle Forum state president, Andrew Dunn.

Eagle Award recipients are nominated by Eagle Forum state leadership and the awards are presented at the organization’s annual gathering, Eagle Council, which will be held September 21-22, 2012 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Eagle Forum's Mission is to enable conservative and pro-family men and women to participate in the process of self-government and public policy making so that America will continue to be a land of individual liberty, respect for family integrity, public and private virtue, and private enterprise.
